No-exam life insurance
Accelerated underwriting: who qualifies, how the process works, and your path if you don't.
Most carriers now employ accelerated underwriting: for applicants meeting age and coverage limits, decisions are made from your application, medical history data, driving records, and other sources—without a paramedical exam. Decisions may come within hours. Every quote on this site notes the exam status for that product.
What it changes
No medical exam does not mean no underwriting. The carrier verifies your answers through records, prescription history, and motor vehicle data. A policy founded on false statements is contestable within two years. The carrier may still request an exam if their investigation raises concerns; you decide whether to proceed.
Who tends to qualify
Generally, applicants under 60 seeking coverage within the carrier's accelerated thresholds, without significant health events or recent tobacco use, qualify. Carriers may also accept recent medical records from a doctor visit instead of ordering a new exam.
If an exam is required, expect a 20- to 30-minute appointment with a paramedic, typically at your home or workplace in the Chico area, at no charge. Healthy applicants often find exam results lead to a better rate class.
